Teachers

老师
Afya Yoga、Pilates & Dance Studio 的敬业教师是我们成为如此知名的瑜伽工作室的重要原因。他们的承诺和热情是他们所做的一切的重中之重。在下面认识我们的一些团队成员。

Sonita
Sonita is a pilates and certified Amrit Yoga Instructor with decades of experiences in fitness of mind, body and spirit. A student of yoga since her college days as a Fulbright Scholar, and subsequently as a Masters degree holder from The Johns Hopkins University in Health Services, Sonita strongly believes in the ability of yoga to help change a person's thoughts, create positive energy and attain a toned physique.

Bianca
Bianca discovered yoga over ten years ago during a mentally and emotionally challenging period in her life. She had heard about yoga’s healing effects and knew that without a major lifestyle change, she was heading toward burnout. Yoga became that turning point.
After several years of dedicated practice, she felt called to explore yoga more deeply and enrolled in her first teacher training—not with the intention of teaching, but to expand her own understanding. As teaching opportunities naturally arose, she realized this was her purpose and began pouring her full passion into sharing the practice with others.
Bianca’s classes blend dynamic movement, conscious breathing, and gentle relaxation. Meet her on the mat at Afya.

Helga
Helga has been practicing yoga for over 16 years. Initially trained in Iyengar methods her practice has developed into more fluid vinyasas that vary from gentle flows to more energetic ones to encourage practitioners to get to know their bodies and develop their strength and practice instinctively.

Brittany
Brittany has always been interested in how the body moves and exploring its optimal movement ability in every moment. Her interest started with her love for dancing transformed into practicing the art of Pilates which she has now been teaching for almost 7 years.
She loves how the mind’s connection to the body strengthens movement and conditions the muscles in a way that regular exercise does not always allow. The aim for a deep mind body connection provides the basis for her teaching style.
She also believes movement is an art form and must be fun and enjoyable, so in her class you will see fun twists and challenges on classic moves to keep things interesting and dynamic as you move together and watch your bodies transform.

Tina
Tina is a Kundalini Yoga Instructor who received her certification from The Kundalini Research Institute in New Mexico in 2011. Kundalini Yoga is called "the yoga of awareness." In her practice and teaching, Tina seeks to bring an experience of Jojy and Peace through accessing this deep awareness.
Tina began her personal practice over 40 years ago, studying Hatha Yoga with Ananda Marga and then at the University of Windsor, Canada, while doing her Bachelor of Commerce. She traveled extensively to do Kundalini Yoga trainings, and is a Member of the Life Force Academy, a school dedicated to teachers and students practicing Kundalini Yoga and Ayurveda.

Keita-Marie
Keita-Marie is a testimony of the wonderful benefits of Pilates. In 2002, when she was told that she would never dance again after incurring injuries from an accident she started attending Pilates classes on the recommendation of her mother. She returned to the stage within months and in 2004 started training to become a Pilates Instructor. With over 15 years of experience teaching Pilates she has made it her mission to share the benefits of the Pilates system, not only as a fitness regimen, but as a rehabilitation tool to help people live healthier lives.

Marion
Marion has a long-standing passion for dance and is deeply in love with the language of movement. When Pilates crossed her path in 2016, she was instantly drawn to the way it awakened her body and senses. Observing movement, learning to listen to the body, reconnecting with its subtle signals, and understanding its mechanics in order to move with greater ease—this is what makes Pilates so precious to Marion.
She does not practice Pilates in pursuit of beauty standards, but as an act of care and awareness. To her, Pilates is a mindful way of honoring the body—our lifelong companion—nurturing its health, and developing greater strength and resilience for the years ahead.
